Tokaido
The video visuals for “Tokaido” by London-based composers and percussionists Zands and Louise Anna Duggan (Minihi) were created by me as part of Project XII. Inspired by the Shinkansen journey from Kyoto to Tokyo, the piece blends mallets, piano, percussion and electronics to create a shifting sonic landscape.
Through dynamic imagery, rhythmic editing, and immersive sound design, the work evokes the continuous flow of travel, the contrasts between urban and rural spaces, and the fleeting moments of observation that define a journey at high velocity.
